Dear Friends,
Being Ordained and Inducted into King’s
Park Parish Church on the 22nd of November was a very
special evening for a number of reasons.
Firstly, it is the
start of a very exciting journey with God’s people here in King’s Park.
The people God has called me to serve. It is the beginning of new
relationships and an opportunity for us all to worship God, serve Jesus
and empowered by the Holy Spirit to reach out with his love to those
within our community who don’t know Jesus and to help others to get to
know him better.
Secondly, I was
quite overwhelmed by the number of people who travelled far and wide to
share this evening. People travelled from Buckie on the Moray Coast and from Wigan in England.
Friends attended from all walks of my life, from Brucefiled Church
where I grew up and was nurtured including my Sunday school teacher, to
teaching friends, life long friends, my retired minister who encouraged
my calling, as well as the congregations whom I have had a placement
and relationship with; Clackmannan Parish Church, St. Mungo’s in Alloa,
Dunnipace Parish Church and Alva Parish Church. Many friends who have
travelled with me, supporting, encouraging and helping to make me the
minister I am today.
I would like to
thank everyone who made that evening so special.
We are now in the
thick of Advent and our preparations for the Primary School Services,
Children’s Nativity service, the Big Breakfast who are leading the 7pm
Christmas Eve service and the Nomination Committee who are assisting
with the Watch night service. It is a really busy time but I am so
encouraged by the way everyone has rolled up their sleeves and help put
together these and other services. Working together we can all achieve
a great deal, using the gifts and abilities God has given to each one
of us.
I am looking
forward to getting to know people better, and encourage people to
contact me either by telephoning or e-mailing me if they want to
discuss a matter or just want a chat.
I wish you and your
families all God’s Blessings for a healthy and Happy Christmas and New
Year.
Your friend in
Christ,
Sandra. |
